CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS
The registered auditor may not, without such
qualification as may be appropriate in the circumstances, express an opinion
to the effect that any financial statement fairly presents in all material
respects the financial position of the entity and the results of its
operations and cash flow unless a registered auditor who is conducting the
audit of an entity:
- has carried out the audit free from any restrictions.
- has obtained all information, vouchers and other documents which in the registered auditor’s opinion were necessary for the proper performance of the registered auditor’s duties.
An auditor who contravenes the above is guilty of an
offence and is liable to a fine or in default of payment to imprisonment not
exceeding five years.
